The course takes place over one day and alternates language work, role-playing and cultural immersion.
From 9am to 5pm, lunch included.

Morning: work on professional French in real-life situations

Morning sessions are devoted to professional communication.

– structuring a message or an email
– speaking up in a meeting
– formulating a nuance or a disagreement
– adapting your language register according to your interlocutors
– clarifying and defending an idea

Afternoon: cultural immersion

The afternoons extend this work through a cultural approach:

– readings,
– exchanges and exploration of a Parisian venue
– observation of how language, culture and customs interact.

These situations are tackled using concrete examples and conversation exercises.

Speaking up in meetings
You’ll learn how to open a speech, present an idea clearly, respond to an objection and conclude with confidence. The aim is to find the right level of language, but also the right posture in a French professional setting.
Understanding cultural codes
Using real-life examples, we work on opening and closing formulas, choice of tone, cultural implicits and how to structure a message that is clear, precise and adapted to the recipient.
Expressing disagreement with nuance
Saying no, rephrasing a reservation, introducing an objection without rushing: these situations call for real linguistic finesse. The course enables you to work on these formulations in realistic contexts.
Understanding relationship codes in France
Meetings, business lunches, small talk, hierarchies, formal and informal: we take a look at the ways in which working relationships are structured in France, to help you evolve with greater ease in your professional environment.
Practicing the language in a Parisian setting
Cultural immersion is an extension of language learning. A place, a text or a cultural reference becomes the starting point for an exchange that links language, culture and the French way of looking at the world.

Is the "Business & Culture" internship right for you?

The Business & Culture internship is for you if you work in France or if you regularly interact with French people and want to become more at ease in your professional interactions.

It can be particularly useful if you are a recent expatriate to France, if you work for an international company, or if your business requires you to collaborate with French partners.

A minimum level of B1 is recommended to enable fluid and constructive exchanges during the sessions.

For those already taking Passages conversation classes, this course is also a natural extension: a way of exploring the language in real-life professional situations, directly linked to the cultural codes of the French working world.
